Buoyant oil cities give office market a lift

The Financial Times reports:

High oil prices are propping up commercial real estate markets in cities closely tied to the energy industry.

RCA's data shows that Houston and Dallas were the best-performing US cities in the first half of 2008 for office property sales. It should be noted that the volume of deals still fell 12% and 23% respectively, but that compares well to the 67% drop in office volume nationwide in the first half.
