AIG tries selling its real estate

The Record reports: Struggling insurance giant American International Group wants to sell its real estate unit, which includes a stake in the New Jersey apartment buildings it bought last year from the Kushner family's real-estate empire. That deal fetched the highest price for multifamily properties in state history. "This is the worst time to sell real estate as far as I can remember," said Dan Fasulo, managing director of Real Capital Analytics in New York City, a real estate research firm. "If you have the ability to hold an asset, you hold right now."
