Crain's New York Business reports: A rash of similar lawsuits is likely to occur, given the significant number of distressed properties in New York City. According to Real Capital Analytics, there are 32 commercial properties, valued at $3.4 billion, that belong to owners who have either gone bankrupt, defaulted on their mortgages or put their property in foreclosure. Another 236 properties, valued at $8.6 billion, are potentially troubled, according to the study.
