The list of Troubled Assets around the globe touches almost every country, with the largest concentrations in the US, UK, Australia, Spain and Japan. To learn how deeply distress has penetrated into a specific national market, simply choose the country from the drop-down menu. This search tool drills down into each country to classify the stages of distress in its pool of troubled assets, providing a clear breakdown of what is actually already claimed by lenders (Lender REO) or where the borrower has extended or restructured debt but remains still in distress. It also provides the total of resolved assets, as well as the level of current distress apart from what has been resolved. Periodic repeat searches will illustrate whether resolution of troubled assets is gaining or being overwhelmed by new levels of distress in each country.

Troubled Assets include situations where a mortgage is delinquent or in default, liens have been filed, or foreclosure is in process and/or an administrator, receiver or special servicer has been appointed. Properties where development is stopped before completion or the sole tenant is in liquidation also qualify a property as distressed, as do properties owned by any entity that is in bankruptcy or administration. Lender REO includes properties where the lender has taken title and it becomes Real Estate Owned (“REO”).
