Mall and Other
A mall is a retail center often referred to as a “shopping mall.” The walkway or “mall” is typically enclosed, climate-controlled and lighted, flanked on one or both sides by storefronts and entrances. Onsite
parking, usually provided around the perimeter
of the center, may be surface or structured.
Mall and Other retail subcategories include:
Regional Mall: Usually 350,000 or more square feet and configured either as an enclosed mall (many times more than one story) or as an open air center. Generally this type of mall has at least two anchor tenants.
Freestanding: A property where only one retail store operates, for example an Eckerd's.
Urban Retail/Store Front: A retail property that sells in a CBD (Central Business District).
