The following is a comprehensive analysis based on 145 defaulted commercial mortgages with an outstanding balance totaling $3.2 billion that have been liquidated in 2009. The gross proceeds recovered by the lenders totaled $1.9 billion equating to a Recovery Rate (RR) of just under 60% overall, before costs and fees.
