By on March 16th, 2021

The top brokerage firms of the global commercial real estate market for 2020 have been named by Real Capital Analytics.

In its 10th annual global ranking of investment sales brokers, RCA reveals that CBRE was the leading broker worldwide in 2020 based on sell-side activity. JLL was in second place and Cushman & Wakefield in third position.

CBRE came out top in the three global zones: the Americas; Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA); and, Asia Pacific. JLL placed second in EMEA and the Americas, and third in Asia Pacific. Rounding out the top three ranks in each region were BNP Paribas (ranked third in EMEA), Savills (second in Asia Pacific), and Newmark (third in the Americas).

RCA’s Top Global Investment Brokers 2020 tracked the sell-side activity of 520 brokerage firms globally. These brokers were associated with transaction volume of $444 billion last year.

In 2020 worldwide commercial real estate sales dropped to the lowest level since 2013, based on the dollar volume of transactions, as the pandemic disrupted normal ways of doing business, cast a shadow on property types such as offices, and hurt economies globally.
