Crain’s Chicago Business reports: John Hancock Real Estate–a unit of Toronto-based Manulife–is reportedly buying 1 S Wacker Drive in Chicago, IL for $345 million. The office tower is being sold by Harbor Group International who purchased the building in 2012 for $221 million. In the Chicago metro area, foreign buyers accounted for 16 percent of the acquisition volume last year, according to global commercial real estate data firm Real Capital Analytics. Nationally, foreign buyers made up 14 percent of office sales volume.
